Added a K&N panel filter to my otherwise stock 2SS RS LS3 and was not happy with the results. Motor was just OK on WOT but under light throttle acceleration it surged and had a flat spot around 2000 -2500 RPM. Very noticeable. Verified I had a weak sensor through the info shared here. Code was W. Dropped the original paper filter back in and the improvement was instant. No surge, flat spot went away and feels stronger overall. Even sounds better. My strong MAF is on the way and when I test it out with the K&N I'll report my results. I purchased the K&N for economic reasons not for performance although a little boost would be nice. Anyone see gains with a panel filter and a strong MAF or did I waste my money?

Installed new MAF with K&N panel and all is right with the world. Smooth and strong, more power on the top end.

After installation of my k&n cai I started getting all these symptoms of a weak maf. Their are no vac leaks that I can see and everything is tight. I pulled my maf sensor and the number was "k19" according to this thread it says I have a good maf sensor but yet I have all the symptoms of a weak maf sensor. Need some input please! I've been trying to figure this out for 2 months now

I'm new to the Camaro so this may not apply per se.

Did you unplug the battery to reset the computer? If that doesn't work you may have a failing MAF sensor, or dirty (maybe oil from the k&n?)

I guess you would want to check the HZ/MHZ of your MAF as the first post of the thread gives values you should see.

I went to auto zone and put in a new crappy duralast oem maf sensor and I still had the same problems
