Bulb type IAT sensor

Can anybody let me know what their experience has been with replacing the MAF IAT sensor with a bulb type sensor.

I have a 100% meth system with an ECS. I can get one or two good hits on the street before the IAT's get too high for the stock MAF to handle. Since the MAF takes around 8 seconds to register cooler air I am suffering from major power loss until the computer registers that it's safe to add timing or I guess more accurately stop pulling timing.

I'm also pulling timing because of an inadequate fuel system. I was making a conservative 500hp before adding FI and meth so the system that came with the ECS is just not enough. I was well over 700hp but duty cycle was way over capacity. We dropped it down to around 680hp and it's running at 98% now.

I have a lot of things going against me at this point because I'm just an average working Joe and I can't just build everything at once. I need the entire drivetrain to be upgraded as well, but I feel the most pressing issue at the moment is getting on demand IAT readings so I can at least have consistent power at all times.

Perfect! Thank you.

I'm assuming that you have done this yourself? Beside the harness, what sensor do I need to get?

Yes that should definitely make a Difference. Using the Builders ( Vengeance Racing) Breakout Kit with GM 3BAR MAP (Custom Alky Control 2nozzle System 100%VP M1) Best Wishes.
