What if...they forgot to include them in the design?

It will be hilarious when they try to back up at night for the first time and see nothing in the rear view camera.

"Bob! I think we forgot something!"

They're just doing all they can to make up for the reverse lights on the 10'-13'.

I was at the reveal and saw them in action: the outer insides of the taillights are the brake lights, and the inner insides are the reverse.

Good info. What part functions as the turn signal?

still doesnt answer where the reverse lights are though lol.
The reverse lights are in the tail housing.

The lights look very red, but you have to remember these are "3D" housings, like the vette. its not just a smooth cover. there is depth to the lights and the center sections are sunk into the outer housings.

this.
there are some aftermarket tailights for the refresh design 5th gen that function the same way.

That is what I have said all along, this prototype picture is my reason for believing that.
Also I think the brake light also functions as the turn signal.

Makes sense, I guess the red tint just may be reflections. Flash photography and reflectors don't mix well.

Is the turn signal the hockey stick slants?
