1LE soon for sale...purchased a 2016 Mazda CX-3 Touring

Long story short...I'm military and Oahu, Hawaii bound ~May 2016.

Reasons to buy a small CUV rather than keep 1LE in Hawaii:

-high salt water in the air in HI
-very heavy crime rate in HI "especially with a car like (mine)"[the 1LE that is]
-a need for an automatic in the very bad traffic
-much batter gas mileage
-far more practical vehicle for beach day and other activities on the island
-far better ground clearance for the beach; parking in grass/off-road areas
-costs HALF of what my Camaro did in stock form (looking to save/invest more $ leading up to retirement in less than 5 yrs

Great story about purchase of CX-3 under pics if you care for a laugh.
2016 Mazda CX-3 Touring in Ceramic Silver:

threw in a review vid just cause:

So, the dealership found me a Sport (base trim) ...did the credit check, agreed on a price, signed financial papers, shook hands and got the "It'll be here mid next week, I'll call you." Deal done!
I went in the next morning to see if it would be to me before I left to to Myrtle Beach for a car weekend with my 1LE...and they said the Sales Mgr at the dealership the car was supposed to come from bc the local dealerships I was working with "had an allocation they would send to them for the exchange" and all was well...that Sales Mgr sold my car from underneath me that following morning after I had a deal. I, was, LIVID.....
After much complaining and "bad business" remarks and showing understanding that it was the OTHER dealership and not them, the local dealer found me a higher trim (Touring...$2315 MSRP difference) and I talked them down on price and at the end of the day...

...I got a higher trim for less $ than the lower trim and it's getting delivered a day or two earlier...WINNING!

Crushes me to sell my 1LE but its the smartest thing I could do right now leaving to HI in a few months and help setting me up better financially for my retirement gift to myself in 2020/21...maybe a Gen7?

HI sucks, spent my last assignment at Camp Smith SOCPAC... It was awesome the first 6 months but after that....traffic, tourists, island fever and horible schools!!!!!!

The fam and I were very happy to leave there after 3 years.

Sorry you have to sell the 1LE but honestly it would not be the worst ride to have over there.... I took my dodge 2500 Cummins ram with a twin disk clutch and 4" lift with 35's lol

Ill be at USARPAC on Ft Shafter. I don't want the theft and door dings and salt water to ruin the car and aside from that, too many other reasons it makes sense.
I've been thinking about selling for almost a yr already anyways for a more economical car to save for that retirement car :P

That's vallid. The gas prices when I was there sucked big time. Parking lots are tight. And to save for your retirement car...if your careful how and where you spend you should be able to pocket some cola. Good luck, and stay safe!

Nice. Give us an update after you have driven it for a few weeks. That is currently our top choice to replace the Sonic in a year or so. I want to see what GM will have at that time, but the wife loves the Mazda.

Good luck!

Mazda makes the best interiors at their price point. It def has the ability to be your DD for 10 years. Allowing you to get a sick retirement car haha.

exactly.

BUT SADLY....I went to pick it up and there were 3 nicks in the front all the way through the paint. He said he could get me pushed to the front of the cars to get the body shop to fix.....I LOL'd. Told them basically "if you expect me to buy a BRAND NEW car AFTER it's already been through the body shop, you're mistaken."

After they already sold the first car our from under me......I told them to deliver me a car with NO damage or I'm walking.

Here are some helpful hints:

COSTCO, COSTCO, COSTCO
they have mainland pricing on fuel.

Im sorry your suffering from Testicular atrophy
so to make you feel better ill send you a rainbow sticker for the back of your new car!

Yea, I'd go with a WRX hatch or a crosstrek if I had to have a car. Motorcycle would be way more fun out there.
