TPMS question- will I need to re-learn?

Maybe a stupid question, but if I change out a single wheel/tire and put the same TMPS sensor back into the new wheel and install in the same position on the car, will the TPMS continue to be recognized without having to go through the re-learn procedure for all 4 tires?

According to the guy who did my winter tires, if it's in the same position, the system should not need to relearn it.
