AC belt tensioner SS ??

I am tired of replacing my ac belt. Earlier this week it decided to pop off just because a little spirited driving.

Has anybody came up with an option to add a tensioner. Hoping someone has been creative.

Maybe I'm not familiar with the level of spirit you drive. I've never had an issue with the AC belt. And I hit the rev limiter way too often.

There are numerous post of the ac belt issues. Maybe by 2015 GM corrected it.

I try not to hit the rev limiter, usually push just to it. Hitting the limiter just slows you down.

I get it but in 1st gear, once you get the wheels a spinnin', it gets there in a hurry.

I decided to replace my belt for good measure while I had the turbo kit apart and the belt I bought seemed a bit too stretchy and went on easier than the original did when I have had to RnR it. I thought maybe they figured out the original belts were a PITA to get on an off and made it work better, not! Some runs up 7k slung the new belt every time. It did show me my Innovators West balancer was not quite aligned, so some serious tightening on that to get it properly seated, then torqued to spec and a new belt and all seems to be well again.

As far as a tensioner, I don't see how you're going to pull that off. The gen III LS engines had tensioners for the AC, but I don't think you could get that rig to fit our cars. Good luck.

I also agree with Moto that it does not take much to hit the rev limiter especially if you lose traction. 1st gear goes quick.

I have never had any issues. I have had 3 Gen5 Camaros and two Gen6 and never had a an issue. Guess I am lucky.
