Power steering pump - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Anyone ever changed the power steering pump on an SS? I busted mine hitting a doughnut and Chevy quoted me $700 plus dollars to do it. I picked up a new pump and purchased the online Haynes manual for instructions. They seem to be for the V6 Camaro. Does anybody have a DIY write up or any intructuons that will help?

Was there much difficulty getting the belt off?

No, it's a serpentine belt. Just release the tension on the tensioner and make sure you note how it wraps. Take a pic before you take it off...

New pump in and working great! It was so easy I cannot believe Chevy wants $700!!! Thx man
