I get it. Since Rocky Mountain closed, there isn’t a strip nearby so my goal is a well balanced handling build for the mountain roads and street.

I just ordered the SB039 sway kit. Just hoping I'm losing weight and not gaining it. Thanks John.

I've been stripped out all the weight I can. Took out 251#s so far.

I tried to remove my door panels, because I have a buyer for them, but then I can't open the doors. Does anyone have a solution, like a small handle that will bolt into the metal door, that can be used to open the door from the inside?

I believe I can keep the window switch to roll down the windows, and the buyer is ok with that.

With the speakers it should drop another 20#s or so and put some cash in my pocket.

I just need some kind of handle that i can screw into the metal door, that will leverage this ball/joint wire think to engage the door opening mechanism.

Anyone have a solution?

Im all about function and less about form.

How long of pull is required to actuate the latch? Maybe a brake lever off a dirt bike? Don’t know how you’d mount it, but they are very light weight aluminum.

Or something like this would work. You’d just have to fab a bracket that bolts to the linkage hole with a hole and slot for the cable end.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-94447

That would work. Not as pretty as some of the splined options, but itll work. The ball/wire only needs to move about 1/4-1/2 inch and i can operate it by hand. Something like this will work.

Although now that ive pulled it all off, I’m not sure its worth the weight savings.

Yeah, 20 lbs is a decent amount of savings, just depends how far you're willing to go with function over form. I don't know what I'd do if I was in your shoes, my car is slow (L99 with few mods) so I haven't had to make those kinds of decisions yet.

I recently stumbled on a picture of a door shell and it appeared there was a reinforcement bar in there. Has anyone successfully removed one without needing to repaint the door? I understand you gotta pay to play, but just wondering if its bonded to the outer skin. Ill probably pop a door panel off and look this weekend too.

Ben @ gpi might chime in. He said they were worth maybe 6lbs a side. Not enough to dick with imo

I understand. I may still consider it as long as I don't think ill trash the outter door skin. Taking 6lbs out in 10 places is 60 lbs, and if I take both door bars out ill only need too find 6lbs from 8 places. Lol
