Vinny Ten on Fake shops, bad shops, mechanics, etc.

This applies to a lot of people on here. Take 15 minutes and watch the video and re-evaluate just what it is you're trying to accomplish.

Dang - that was a long video. He's not wrong though - I'm guilty myself, shop prices rather than quality and it turns into a headache everytime.

Great post. I was reading another thread concerning dealers. People were complaing that they got screwed, that the dealer was bad. I thought was it really the dealers fault? Did the customer have an expectation that was not realistic? When I first started playing with cars as a young teenager, I explained to my Dad what type of car I wanted. He explained that one, we could not afford that, and two, I had just described two seperate cars (much like Vinny described). Valuable lessons. Again, great post!

This is why I'm only choosing one shop to build my engine and tune it. I always do my own work that way I have no one to blame but myself but as far as machining, building the engine and tuning I will only use the most reputable shop in my area. There are a few good engine builders around here not very many speed shops but I always hear horror stories of people around here that can't put together a old school 350 this is a great video every kid should watch in high school auto class.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Nice find ! So true though I'm sure we've all including myself have been guilty of this in some way shape or form. Real eye opener for the next time ever seeking a shop.

DIY. No one to blame but yourself. Shit will hit the fan. Who would you rather be mad at? Yourself? Or someone else?

eh made some good points but still there are shops who will still try and rip u off same goes to dealers too. But shouldn't some shops just be honest with the customer and say they never worked on their type of car before or that they cant do it as well?
