Chevy got it right with the 1LE, they're selling those with 3.91 gears. Wish they figured that out earlier instead of being so concerned with fuel economy :/ Congrats!

I made an appointment fjor next tuesday to have Unitrax install my 3.70's.

It should make a huge difference getting the car moving with my 3200 stall converter. in stop and go traffic, im getting 10 mpg because the car is so heavy and the convertor is slipping at low speeds.

Im thinking it actually may get better mileage if i gas it to get it rolling.

i have the gears and bearing kit already, they are charging 450 to swap it out completely, 375 if i pull the carrier, so im just going to let them pull it. that much work (no lift) for 75 bucks is a no brainer.

Excatly! Plus they have to remove the exhaust. Did you talk to Devin?

Congrats Bro! First gear must not last very long.
I can't believe you hung out and took PICs...very cool though.

Unitrax is the best kept secret in OC.....I've always tried to get em to do other work like trans etc. but they won't.

Speedventures is doing Buttonwillow next week-end.....you could put the final miles on your break-in with a trip to bakersfield......Beginner sat is only $100.
Very cool course too....but no firearms (LOL)

Nice upgrade there. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my rear end. I'd like to wait and see if any shops will be offering 1LE rear ends once the part numbers have been released. Think I may go that route instead of an aftermarket rear end. I have a blower installed, but I'm not going anywhere near 900 hp.

I thought about doing the same thing but I have a feeling the posi unit in 1LE will be the same as the SS. Have you looked into a ZL1 rear end?

Briefly yes. But as I understand it they are not compatible with the SS? I may be giving you incorrect info there though as I don't know for sure.

I'm hope JRE or another shop will take a 1LE pumpkin and "upgrade" it.
