I had a carb on my 86 and I always wished it was fuel injected. I understand where the appeal is but its just not my thing. Now a top mount throttle body instead of the typical front mount one? That would be bomb.

I'm sure plenty of guys will pull out those AFM lifters, put in a bigger cam and tune out the AFM. May not be exactly factory, but it can and will be done. So the answer to your question is you can use the same hot cam (or whatever you want), just have to swap out the lifters and get a tune-which you would need anyway with the cam swap.
L99 also runs a lower compression ratio (10.4:1) than the LS3 (10.7:1), which would also contribute to lower power output.

Will absolutely hands down void the warranty.

People, shop outside of GMPP for parts. There is a HUGE aftermarket for LSxs out there. Hundreds of different cam grinds.

Did you do the hotcam swap? 525/525 @ 218/226 and 112 LSA? I know of one 2SS/RS M6 that made 432hp and 429 rwtrq @ 5600rpm It had full 3in Kooks with Long tube headers, high flow cats and CAI. Installed by GM dealer and the full warranty left intact. And the exhaust note and idle are SWEEEET. $ 4K for parts, labor and different GM grill. Given drivetrain loss, Crankshaft HP is atleast .5K

Not me. I'm not too good with a carburetor. I've got one already and that's enough for me. Plus a big cam from LG, TSP, or any of the others will give you more power. Then you can put a carb on there and get even crazier.

If you take a look at the LSA info ... It says you can build your own Z28 Camaro ... (Hint-Hint)

EFI is many times better than a carb, it adjusts automatically for atmospheric changes. Its easy and cheap to retrofit an EFI systems, just get a truck ecu and harness from a salvage yard.

It certainly wouldn't be much of upgrade from an existing LS3 though.

It's just a Cam and they rate it at flywheel(generously). The ASA Cam is not very good for these. The people here making 450rwhp -gm would rate it at 560hp.
