DOD delete, Keep VVT, Which oil pump (L99)
I did the DOD delete but keeping the VVT system. Will I also need to change the oil pump now that it does not have the DOD system with LOMA?
Which oil pump should I use...keep stock or buy other? |

Keep stock. Our L99's come with a high flow pump.

If you keep the L99 pump expect high pressure which can lead to sucking the pan dry at extended high RPM and seal leakage.

I've never heard of a L99 sucking a pan dry. They hold 8 quarts.

Melling makes a L99 pump. It offers higher pressure and high volume. If you dont use a GM pump this would be a decent option. Melling part 10355

Thank you for all your replies. I will stick with the stock pump. I also drilled the new lifter trays with 1/2" holes for a bit more drain back to oil pan.
