Drag Racing Classes for CamaroFest

What are the chances that the ZL-1s will get a fair shake with the drag classes? Putting Zl-1s in the Super
Mod class with 9 second cars isn’t exactly fair and kept a lot of ZL-1s from competing.

We had a straight up ZL1 class for a few years and no one showed up. I even won one year.

But yes we can consider it again.

Haha same reason they don't do a west coast camarofest is 80% of the attendance is still east coast. Seems Camarocon solved that issue for everyone.

Actually there was zero attendance from anywhere East of Texas at CamaroCon so it goes both ways and to be expected. I drove the furthest of anyone and fully support them going forward.

Same model as Holley LS Fest. One in the East and one West

No no that's what I meant, Camarocon is centrally located for the West Coasters being in Vegas. When you guys tried doing a West Coast CamaroFest 80% of the attendance was still from the East Coast. I think the advent of Camarocon is great because it gives both coasts an all Camaro Event so nobody can really complain logistically anymore. I can't wait for CF10 and hopefully many more. Seems the racing is featuring more prominently then in past years.

the longer we go the more time cars have to build up and get faster. Fest 1 we had one car breaking into the 10's. He went 10.4

Surprised you guys didn't try Valdosta for CF10 as a throwback.

I wanted to do the same a couple years ago but it's not big enough... and no road track.

A stock ZL-1 similar to the stock SS class would be nice if you can get some participation. There seems to be lots more ZL-1 owners on the forum these days.

I personally would like to mod my SS to go faster, but then it would put me into a mod class where I would need throw a lot more money at it to be competitive.

Just my thoughts FWIW

Bill

Maybe we could pre-register like for NCM. Then if there wasn’t enough cars per class you could collapse the classes...just a thought.

I think that's what needs to happen for the smaller classes.
