I didn't really think that looked good in the rendered Chevy photo, and this one confirms it. That's just totally out of place on this dash IMO. The retro interior wasn't meant to have a touchscreen put in it, but the public has been clamoring for it so here we are!

I'd rather see a better screen in between the gauges personally. There's a lot that could be done there, just look at the 2013 Mustang if you want an example! A higher resolution color screen could display turn by turn like it does now with an actual map, plus the track computer and many more messages and nicer graphics. Just a more upscale feel than a mono-color low res lcd. The radio could have used a screen upgrade, but not a bump to a 7" touchscreen.

Final note, the switch to electric power steering will likely result in a HP bump which I'm suspecting is the main reason behind it besides longevity. With the Mustang getting yet another power bump I think it's time we saw one too. The V6 has been pumped up like crazy so the V8 should get some love now! Hopefully it's not completely numb though like it is on most cars with EPS, maybe they'll have a sport button?

"New shift knob and automatic Hill Start Assist on all manual transmissions"

Really, is that necessary? We are driving cars with 300+ to nearly 600 HP, and we need help starting on a hill?? Doesn't anyone know how to drive a manual transmission anymore?

Next thing you know, they'll be adding butt warmers, backup cameras and touchscreens to our beloved muscle cars...oh, never mind!

Just wait...your friendly federal gubment has many plans for your automobile in the future. Pretty soon, you won't even need to drive the damn thing, they will guide it for you. George Orwell was right. I wish I was born back in the 40's, then I could have enjoyed this country more. Its all going to hell as we speak. Big Brother SUCKS.

Damn that looks cheap, where do they get all the plastic from? A touchscreen is a welcome addition though. They are keeping up with the competition.
It might not be necessary but hey neither were power windows or power seats when they first came out

I had this on my 83 subaru station wagon so it's nothing new... they called it a hill brake, and if you stop on a hill, the brake remains engaged until you release the clutch. Handy stuff! I'm amazed it's not standard on all vehicles.

So on your Facebook page, you ask what we would like to see changed, and I write that it would be nice if they worked on getting the ZL-1 a little faster out of the hole because it is kind of a pig.

So you guys 'Un-like' me and erase the comment? All people were talking about before this thing got released was that it was going to destroy every car in any condition. Now it is, let's face it, a bit underwhelming in the 1/4 mile and everyone is saying they bought it to road race.

What the heck? I wasn't saying it to be vindictive or start a flame war, it is honest feedback.

What... touch screen, finally... Are you serious OK, now I know what to do... 2013 ZL1 convertible with this touch screen, trade in my 2011 SS... ya that's right..

I was going to trade it in with the 2012 ZL1, but the touch screen is worth the wait, i guess

So does this mean I can hold off a few months and get the ZL1 convertable in July? It took so long to get the coup out. Also, my local dealer said they were only allowed to order 4 ZL1 packaged camaros for the 2012 year. I wonder if that will include the convertable if they release them on time this round.

The way I understand it the the 1LE M6 has been re-geared to make the overall effective gearing the same. But now 3rd and 4th gears are more effective on a track with curves.

It remains to be seen what effect this will have on a track with no curves. Maybe force a shift to 4th. So perhaps saving a few RWHP with the electric steering will make up the difference. We will have to wait until the end of the year to see in the real world.

But stronger axles are included! The 1LE will be the car to start with for performance modding. IMO the stronger axles should be included on all manual V8 Camaros.

I agree with those who feel the new screen looks out of place. But I would rather have a real Nav system and live with the visual discord. The aftermarket solutions look even worse.

Now the final thing on my new muscle wish list: A sport seat option hopefully available with a quality cloth weave. Something to hold you in place to take advantage of all the new hardware.
