V6 CAMARO gets 38 miles per gallon. REALLY!!!

It does really! In Canada.

The car may cost us more but we get better mileage.

I was on a Chevy lot today and the sticker for the CTS with V6 DI was labeled as 38 MPG . I suspect the Caddy is a little heavier with all the junk so CAMARO may do better than that!

Of course the Imperial gallon is 25% bigger than a US gallon.

Going downhill, in neutral, in a vacuum perhaps, but still a pretty good theoretical number.

1 mile per gallon = 3.78 liters per mile so that's not it.

What we're looking for is;

1 mile per gallon = 1.31 ??????

If so then for us Canadians the fuel Consumption will be different compard to USA:

V6
20/30 man
22/35 auto 8.11 L/100km 12 km/litre
V8
18/26 man
18/27 auto 10.3 L/100km 9.8 km/litre

As per GM Canada's press release, these are the official MPG numbers:
3.6L manual 23/42
3.6L auto 25/41
6.2L manual 21/34
6.2L auto 21/36

Keep in mind imperial gallon is 20% bigger than US gallon and Canadian MPG tests are less stringent than the new US standards.

And a Canadian auto site www.wheels.ca/ gave their test numbers as 23/41 mpg for the V6 and 21/36 mpg for the V8.
