Never had a restrictor on my ECS kit, and pulled many a friends. Solid 800rwhp with a good cam/meth unrestricted. Make sure you have plenty of fuel.

I had mine unrestricted. With bigger injectors, cam and meth. I was running 15 lbs. and broke into the 800 whp range.

I have plenty of fuel, Lingenfelter twins and FIC 850cc. Just seeing how many are running around unrestricted.

I've never been restricted either but I don't have an actual ECS kit. It's more of a Paxton kit so its pullied low at first. I have been pullied 7.8 x 3.47 for a while now at 12psi so going to the 3.33 will put me at the pulley setup that the ECS kit has just no restrictor. I'm doing the 3.33 swap regardless but was just curious on how many other people are unrestricted.

The number of people running it unrestricted might be more than you think. I was at FSP today talking to Matt and he said he's done many setups similar to mine since my install nearly 2 years ago. I was his 2nd ECS install since opening FSP. It's a relatively inexpensive/safe way to make 700 - 800 RWHP (depending on the type of dyno used ) on a stock bottom end. I hope my motor doesn't go boom after saying "safe".

One other thing - I believe with that pulley if you rev high enough you will actually be pushing the blower a little bit past the recommended rpm. It hasn't been an issue for me so far. My limiter is set at 6800 IIRC. I try not to hit it, but the darn thing spins up so fast it's hard to shift in time. I have a shift light on order.

You can find the blower speed limits online somewhere. Don't remember where but I looked it up before changing my pulley. At 6500 I still have a small buffer before the blower hits its max with the 3.33. I think my crank pulley is different than yours though.

I would love to add a cam but I know I will have to jump up to the id850's and swap out the zl1 pump with a dual.
What I would really like to do is yank the motor and throw in a forged rotating assembly with some head work and then do the cam.

Max rpm for the 1500 is 55k so 7.8 x 3.33 is safe.

If you have plans on going that route with a forged motor, go with 1000cc injectors. You'll save money in the long run. I did mine in stages and did a cam before going with a motor. Once I did go with a new motor, I had to upgrade my injectors.
