Can you show some clearance pictures? Also, any updates to brake cooling now that rim has shrunk or you gona test it out?

Would appreciate any info on wheels please (width offset etc?)

What are the benefits you expect to gain by using the 18" rims. I'm considering doing the same as I only track the car. Also, what tires will you be using.

Tire choices and able to use one of arguably the best race tires on the market.

Michelin Slicks
27/68-18 CUP N2
Part #: 77014
BENEFITS
Utilize the same technology in Competition Slicks that go into 24 Hours of Lemans winning products.
Provides competitors an ideal balance of performance and durability.
For dry / damp closed course use.
Performance is optimized when ambient temperatures are higher than 50 degrees F.
Optimum temperature range: 160-220 F.
Optimum pressure range: 30-32 psi.

The shorter sidewall tire will reach limit of adhesion at a smaller slip angle, the taller sidewall will act as a lateral spring for the contact patch.
Because there's some give to the sidewall, the patch can hang on that much longer, so you can push the lateral load more.

There is not much clearance at all and we did have to grind a small amount on the upper spindles in the front to get the clearance we have.

Had it to the track this past weekend and experienced no brake issues but the temps were 36-51 on all my sessions

Also if you are on a budget and just driving track days there are plenty of race shops selling 18" scrubs with some heat cycles for 1/4 the original cost.

Awesome...and no prob, glad I could help. Happy to see another person rocking the 18s! I also like the slight change in stance the 18s give it. It is subtle but very aggressive and makes me smile! Hopefully we cross paths some day on the track.

I want to do this with a road tire. 19inch options aren't great.
