Racestar wheels - Do not buy

Not sure if to put this here, feedback, or wheel section.

18 months ago I bought a set of 17" Racestar darkstar wheels. I've had nothing but issues with them and do not recommend anyone buys them. I was out of country the last 15 months so didn't really have a chance to run them.

First they said they would fit fine and not have issues with grinding the calipers. WRONG. Took a ton of grinding to get them to fit.

Second, have coilovers on the car and they touch the reservoir on the inner portion. I have KW3 coilovers for reference. I can't fault them as much for this as it's an aftermarket product but there is no reason that they sell a wheel they say will fit on a 5th gen with known problems.

1st: The coilover issue isnt their fault
2nd: They 100% mention to anyone buying them that they might rub on the calipers when installed
Sounds like these are more your issues than theirs..

There were some issues with the early RaceStars rubbing. I just bought a set of 17s and they fit fine front and back with no rubbing at all on my 2010 SS. I think they have this figured out on current wheels. I still fit mine before having the tires mounted just incase I had to return them. I have about 1/16th to 1/8th inch clearance all the way around.

I said I can't fault them on coilovers. However, how are you going to sell a wheel that doesn't fit? Let alone they sent me the wrong ones the first time. I already had to pay to return the wrong wheels once when I specially ordered setup for 2010 camaro. Was told the issues were fixed with the fitment when I purchased. Seems it's hit or miss.

We sell Racestar wheels and have installed them on a number of 5th gens without issue. A great budget friendly option for race wheels, with good helpful people working there.

17x4.5 up front and 17x10.5 outback, calipers barely clear in the rear, but they clear.
