A 1st to 2nd grind question.

I have a 2010 v6 manual. I never had a problem with shifting from 1st to 2nd at high RPM's with a stock shifter. Like close to redline while drag racing. After I installed the Hust short shifter, it grinds like crazy if i shift fast at high RPM's. It's fine at low RPM's though.

This leaves me to believe that the short shifter is the reason? Basically I want to know if I take it to the dealer, if they can blame the Hurst? Thanks.

I don't think it is your shifter, per se. But it is an effect of the shorter throw. I think with the long disengagement of the clutch on this car, you (and myself and others) are beating the clutch disengagement. I have had the grinding issue, but if I am very mindful of being sure my foot gets to the floor before throwing it into second, it happens much less.

With your new shifter, I imagine you are getting there too quick. Try hesitating with the shift and be sure you get the clutch all the way to the floor before shifting.

Hmmm...i guess that could be possible. I don't shift like that often, so i'll give it a shot after work. thanks.
