At least it was a good cause.... Christmas in the Oaks is a pretty big deal if your into Christmas lights. They also have Al Copelands lights in Lafreniere park, which is free of charge I believe. Maybe we can do both.

There are a few Christmas Parades around here to if anyone is interested in getting a group together and being in a parade.

Sat Dec 4 10am – 11amCentral Christmas Parade on Hooper Road

Saturday, December 4
Walker Christmas Parade
The Walker Christmas Parade will be held Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. There will be floats, antique cars, horses, golf carts and more. The parade will start at Walker High School and travel east on Burgess Ave. to Hwy. 447. It will then travel south on Hwy. 447 one block to Florida Blvd. The parade will head west on Florida Blvd. to Palmetto St., where it will travel north to Burgess Ave., returning to the high school. A map is posted online at walker.la.us/ParadeRoute.pdf. At 6 p.m. the same day, the celebration culminates with the lighting of a 27 foot Christmas tree adorned with 1,600 feet of lights and hundreds of ornaments created by local first graders. One lucky child will be selected to flip the switch that lights up the tree. Call 665-4356.

Saturday, December 11
DS Christmas Parade
The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Denham Springs Christmas Parade on Dec. 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Numerous floats, marching bands, choirs, school, church and civic organization entries. Parade starts at Denham Springs High School, rolls south on Range, west on Florida and ends on Veterans Blvd. Call the Chamber of Commerce at 665-8155.

We could try and hit one of them up, they are all medium sized so nothing crazy like a Mardi Gras parade having and having to worry about the car. Yet still good times.

What yall think?

Bummer. Gonna have to miss em both i think. Had a unit trip out late last week, 2 months before turnaround was scheduled. They cancelled vacations and everyone is kinda going hecktic. Which is why i missed Sat. If i get lucky and they let me use a "fatigue" day i might get one of them.

Driving the Camaros in the Parade sounds good! Let me know what all wants to do. I think I can make it! I like the Walker Parade.
