2010 SS vs 2009 GTO
How do you think my Camaro would do against my friends GTO.
My SS has a CAI, Flowmasters American Thunder exhaust system and a dyno tune to top it off. The GTO is 5-speed and has JBA headers and an exhaust which i am not sure of which type it is, and a Veraram intake. 09 |

does the Gto have a tune? if not then i say he beats you by a little. If he does then he beats you by a bit more than that.

2004 GTO = LS1
2005 - 2006 = LS2 (400hp) Also, its either a 4 speed auto or 6 speed manual An 2005 - 2006 (manual or auto) GTO is a close race against a Camaro SS, but the edge definitely goes to the Camaro SS (LS3 Camaro SSs traps a few mph higher than GTOs). I owned an 05 manual and 06 Auto GTO. Both cars ran a few tenth slower than my Camaro SS (mods being equal). |

I had a 2005 auto and it was not much of a performer at the strip. It was bone stock other than some Nitto 555r DR. The best I could do was a 13.4@105. So much for the claim GM put out there back then of a 13.00@109 from the auto. That was actually posted in the brochure. I don't doubt that a better 60ft would have lowered my ET, but 109 stock? My SS feels much faster when it was stock.
As for you modded buddy... anything can be madde fast. I personally don't have a clue how those cars respond modded.

Your time is right with my 06. My 06 GTO (auto) did a best of 13.3 @ 105 mph in good conditions. The GTOs (LS1 and LS2) repond well to mods, but they have a very soft suspension (luxury like) that loves to wheel hop. The Camaro SS is much easier to get off the line cleanly without wheel hop. My 6 speed manual GTO was wheel hop crazy and I couldn't do any better than high 13s - low 14s (bone stock). But with drag radials, I did get it down into the low 13s. My A4 (auto) GTO was consistantly faster than my M6 (manual) GTO. |
