Why do we have it and how do i take it off and what would happen

You can tune it out... and you would go faster than 155mph.

From what I heard, it was put there because the tires. The tires are not rated to go as fast as the car can take them.

do you know good tires that would be built better for speeds above 115

Why is the SS limited then? The Pirellis are Y-rated (186 mph+).

Do you plan on going on a high speed chase? Doubtful you will ever go 155 so why worry?

It's not just the tires. It's also the lift effect of the car. At that speed, the LS, LT and SS want to fly off the ground. The ZL1 sucks itself to the ground at that speed.

Yeah, whenever you are going 150 mph your wheels are literally flying, there is little tire that touches the pavement. Your almost flying.

The ZL1 convertible is limited to 155MPH because of the fabric top.

because of the tires, suspension, and the fact that it's dangerous. aside from the track, you shouldn't be going that fast.

be advised that you would have to get a tune to take it off, and once you do that you have voided your warranty.
