And in any case, V8 Supercars has absolutely nothing to do with NASCAR. Think of it as Australian rules football vs the NFL.
Good One!

It like saying that the IndyCar Series is the same as Formula 1 (another FIA series). It's not. The cars may look similar but thats about all that they have in common.

Each sanctioning body has its own set of rules that the cars running in it have to abide by. And those rules have very little to do with what the production cars are. Bodies, wheelbases, and track widths are shrunk and stretched in order to fit templates. Any resemblance to a normal production car exists because thats better for the marketing departments that help fund the racing series, not because the racecars are derived in any meaningful way from their showroom counterparts.

As for the car itself ... overall I kinda like it. It won't sell in big numbers, but I doubt it was supposed to.

I wish it had a more conventional sedan body style instead of the sportback or whatever they call that. And I feel ... conflicted ... about the grill. It looks nice, but swap the badge and that grill could go onto just about anything. What was wrong with the Buick waterfall grill? Sure, I get that this is supposed to be a sporty model and everything. But why not go with a black chrome grill or something else to set it apart?

How?

Regal GS:

another angle

one more

Chevrolet SS

and another angle

last one

I guess the upper grill shape is similar, though its much bigger on the Buick. The lower grill, the headlights, the fog lights, the amount of space between the upper & lower grills, all of it is quite different. The overall body shape is also pretty different, so are the windows, and the body lines along the side.

Aside from the fact that they're both sedans I don't see a whole lot in common style-wise between those two.

Agreed ^

Also I wish it had more power. It has all the right ingredients, but then when I saw the power numbers I was just like meh.

Someone here says it looks like a Mazda, I totally agree. It also looks too much like the new Malibu which is ugly. While I do like the power, I will keep my 2013 Regal GS for a while longer.

I like it and would be willing to pay the price to have it with the LF4, just a dream but would be all over it.

That's a nice looking car. My wife would look good in a black GS.
