I have no impulse control.
I loved my 2016 2SS, but I wanted a ZL1 from the moment I saw the video of Mark Reuss driving SaabKyle04 around Willow Springs in a camo’d preproduction car.
Now I have one. And now I can’t wait until I am through break-in. |

Looking good! Making me question why I didn't get the exposed carbon hood insert!

I am still not in love with the stock rear wing, though I was surprised to see that it's not exactly the same as the one on my '16. Anderson Composites isn't far from me, and I may take a look at the CF products they offer, as long as I don't feel like I am overdoing the carbon fiber thing. |

I've had the same reaction that same video. Thankfully, while I may lack impulse control, i have divorce control

Good looking ride and welcome to the club. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't excited about the CF hood at first, but now love it! What did you decide, A10 or M6?

I found a great local dealer, purely by chance. When you walk up to a showroom and tell them you're interested in the flashy, expensive cars, they usually start mentally evaluating how serious you are. When I walked up to this place, 3 guys started opening showroom doors and pulling ZL1s off the showroom floor to drive, without me even having to ask. In 5 minutes, I was test driving a ZL1 1LE, which is a masterpiece. But the suspension was too rigid for a daily(ish) driver. Then I drove a M6 ZL1, and then an A10. After driving the A10, and leaning on it enough to trigger performance shift, I finally "got it". The level of control from this transmission, the precision and speed of the shifts... all of it. I was convinced. I'll stay out of it until break-in is complete, but I am looking forward to experimenting with what this trans has to offer. And if anyone in SoCal is buying, go to Glendora Chevrolet and talk to Chris or Rashad (Who tracks his 6th-gen SS 1LE locally). They are legit car guys, and this makes them better sales guys. |

I feel you on this one. I bought my 2017 SS brand new... lasted 11 months. Traded her for a 2018 ZL1!

You do realize that you're really going to stress your neighbor's impulse control now, right? I'm talking the one with the Silver Camaro up the street...

Me neither. As soon as I saw the Gen6 ZL1, I knew my 401K was in for a brutal beating. Would have liked the C7 vettes, but dang they are too small inside.

I think it actually belongs to his girlfriend, but I'm not totally sure. He's around retirement age, and has a 66 or 67 Chevelle in the garage that he's always going to "restore and drive again" but has not yet.

That was how I ended up in my SS, and ultimately this ZL1. It was ergonomics. After an hour or two in my buddy's C7, I NEED to get out and walk around. On a bad traffic day going home from work, I would need a rest stop in a 'vette.

I wonder how many stories there are out there like that, i.e. I've got a 6X Chevelle, Camaro, etc. that I'm going to restore. I imagine for every one that has been restored there are about 10 more sitting and waiting for a resto.
