Opinions/ vote thread NOS or Intake build
First off. I’m not tech savvy... I believe there is a way to add a actual vote tally to the thread. Maybe admin can assist please. If not I’ll just read through comments lol
So I’m at a crossroad. Current mods are a good cam,LTs, e85 tune, ported stock manifold and stock non ported TB I have 2000$ of wife approved funds to play with. Do I buy the ported LT2 manifold, 95mm TB and rotofab intake plus valve covers because I’d like the nice look with the LT2. And make a net gain of maybe 30hp. But a healthy always there power. Brings me to around 550 on the tire at my elevation of 6800ft Or very similar money for a 150 shot of nos kit. Or invest 2000k in Bitcoin lmao and hope in 2 years I can make a sick build |

Pretty simple really, do you want it all the time or just when you press the button?
For me... on the street, NA has plenty of power for just driving and screwing around. If somebody wants to go, then the push of the button it's all I need. I'm not road racing anybody on the streets. LOL. |

Ever since Fast and Furious turned NOS into a punchline I could never get it out of my mind when I see it someone brings it up. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it now. All I see is Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and a bunch of other dorks screaming NOOOOOOOOOS! like zombies in some scary horror movie

Nos is illegal in most states, and with the EPA launching its attack on such things might not be the time..

Blower.
I had nitrous on a 2000 SS and it was great and people seeing the 15 pound bottle on the rear passenger floor (angled up via the back of the console) was surely a conversation piece. After I sold it, I realized I hated having to get it filled and I didn't want to be concerned with bottle temperature ever again. Blower or leave it alone is my vote...

NOS takes prep for a short boost vs having all the power available all the time. Obviously you can use it on the streets but it really is better tool for and on the strip.
I would do the FBO build, especially if you plan to keep the car for good bit. Of course next year you can then add a bottle and have both. |

I was a huge nitrous junky for a few years. I was burning through at least 40lbs/ wk. I liked it, I loved it, couldn’t get enough of it. Then I went twin turbos. Never looked back & never again. Juice is not worth the squeeze with with the hassle & how much it costs / lb right now. It’s cheaper on the onset, but more expensive the more you use it. On our cars a blower is so easy. More cost up front, but it’s always there. |

Well looks like neither is happening for a bit now... 1400$ in vet fees last night as my wife’s Great Dane got bit by a rattle snake. Side note. I really need to get into the vet business. Absolute highway robbery. One emergency was more than I spent on the dog.
