GM's New Camaro Front Bumper with EXTRA HOLES?

Due to alot of road rash (60,000 miles) and wanting to get rid of the AAC RGB Scanner light in the mail slot, I purchased a new front bumper from Huffines Chevrolet in Plano, TX to have new T3 ports that I purchased at C5Fest from ACS Composit installed and bumper painted. When I picked up the bumper I noticed that it had 3 openings that my original bumper did not have.

1 under each headlight and 1 on the right side of the bumper in the front.

Since the T3 ports were already cut out and the bumper painted, I cannot return it. My rep from the dealer says it must have been boxed wrong... The bumper was ordered from my VIN.

When I called the dealership to find out what went in the HOLES, they pulled up the parts catalog and didn't find ANYTHING. They went to the lot to look at all of the new Camaro's they had there, NOTHING, No Holes. My rep said he would call GM to find out what they were and get back with me. He called me back several hours later and informed me that the 2 holes (ports) under the headlights will be for De-Icers and the one in the front of the bumper is for a Tow Hook. No parts are available yet.. . I had my vinyl guy cut a couple of small vinyl circles to cover up the holes under the headlights and the hole in the front of the bumper has a cover.

I don't know if this will be an option or if it will be standard, but I know in TEXAS, I don't need headlight De-Icers..

Here are a couple of pictures (with vinyl installed over the holes under headlights) and the cover for the tow hook in the front of the bumper.

Here are a couple of pictures that I took

I wonder if that is an export bumper. Tie down hooks are usually used when shipping by, eh, ship. De-icers for a European market?

Definively European bumper. GM really did miss on that one.

Ding Ding Ding

In the European model the headlights had a little cleaner part (much like the windshield cleaner). If you do some searching I know you will find a diagram of it on here somewhere.

Either way I don't like it, but because I didn't inspect it before it was cut and painted and I stuck with it !!

That's the export bumper. Keith, I'd raise hell until they took it back since it's the wrong bumper for your car.

Jeff, I already had it cut for the T3 Ports & Painted.. I would have to purchase another set of ports (probably would damage these getting them out due to they are epoxied in, plus the cost of another paint job. I have been talking with JD at Huffines and he said he would go 1/2 with me for the nozzles, etc for the bumper. If you can find a picture of what they look like and email to me would be great..

Thanks

Wow. That sucks man. Still, even though you didn't inspect, it's still their error in ordering the wrong part. They should eat it.
