LEDs in reverse (back-up) lights? - Page 2 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I ended up keeping factory bulbs for light and adding color. Put in two 3 watt RGB LED's per side, or about $15 in LED's. Used plumbers aluminum tape for mounting and heatsink, sealed with silicone and drilled 1/4 holes to let light in. Working for a year.

My idea later was to install 10 watt white or RGB flood lights in stock locations. They have flat fronts and are big enough to fit. Clear is simple 12V, or run wiring for RGB.

They say AC, but inside is just an inverter and start as 12V dc operation.

Thoughts???

Imagine a 10 watt flood back there, times 2!!!

There is a thread on here that somebody made and they replaced the factory reverse lights with a 25 smd led bulb and it looked great. I orded the bulb just need time to install it. Cost me like 12 bucks shipped on ebay for 2 of them. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229051
