Scuff marks inside doors

Hello everyone,

A few months ago I got my car detailed. The guy doing the detail noticed my many scuff marks on the plastic inside the door. He told me I should try to get the doors replaced under warranty because there's no way to fix them..

I'm not one to walk into a dealership and start causing a scene hoping to get a new door panel. Also I doubt they would in fact replace them, seeing as it's a wear and tear kind of issue.

Does anyone know of a good cleaning product or cleaning trick that will bring the plastic panels back to their original look?

Thanks guys !

It wouldn't bring the panels back to original look (you can't polish out the scuffs or scratches) but you can cover them up by getting one of the metal kick gards from defender works or the painted ones from rpi designs

i'm looking into buying kick plates, I agree they would cover up the lower part, but most of them are actually around elbow height (I think i'm pushing the door open with my elbow alot, causing white marks)

Unless there is a "flaw" in the panel, I don't think your going to get a warranty replacement.

To me, scuff marks are caused by your foot dragging across the panel as you enter/exit the vehicle.
As you mention, that is just a wear and tear type of issue.

If those scuff marks are actually "scratches" in the plastic, I am not sure any product is going to bring the panel back to original.
If they are just boot or shoe marks, you should be able to clean them off.
But your detailer would have known what to use in that situation.

I noticed a while back they were selling that advertised on t.v. new plastic stuff at walmart which looked like it did a good job from the ads. Its a spray on plastic restorer.

I bought a set of kickplates off a guy here on C5. They were silver and I painted them white. Problem solved

I have white marks on my door panel also about elbow height. I can spray some interior cleaner on a rag and wipe them right off but a couple days later there is more. I could not figure it out how they were getting there, then I finally realized it was from when I was unhooking my seatbelt. The metal part was hitting the panel and leaving a mark.

I got a set of chrome kick plates from Phastek. The SS cutouts are backed with red carbon fiber looking material. The fit and finish was excellent, and they fit right along the small indentation on the door like they are supposed to be there. The kick plates look awesome and really add to that big black door.

I've got those and scuff marks back where I reach for my seat belt and my watch scuffs the plastic. So far, I've just wiped it down with Zaino quick detailer and it always brings it back to new. I was shocked first time I tried it.

Same as my watch. I didn't know what it was at first. Eventually I figured it out. No permanent damage yet.
