Ashen, I under stand it looks like I’m chasing a number but I just don’t understand that with heads and cam I thought I would have surpassed my last number.

How do the numbers below 5k RPM's look? Are they much different than before?

I second Ashen 6.2. Did you pick up HP and torque gains in lower rpms? Don’t just look at the max numbers, look at any possible changes throughout the spectrum, too. I’d be curious if your new h/c setup is making better numbers in the mid rpms.

Honestly I don’t see how you made the number you did without heads. That’s the number I would suspect. The latest one with heads is closer to what I would expect.

You need to upgrade the headers.
You upgraded the heads (more flow) and changed cam but now your trying to push it through the same size hole.

Thats what I would put my money on.

Both sessions on e. Headers should flow enough to make same hp. Could the new 3.91 gears make a difference? If they were installed for the tune.

Step up to 1 7/8 or 2” headers.
No matter how much people want to talk theory and 1 3/4 are enough the dyno tells a different story. The 1 7/8 and two inch both make more hp on a stock car with a cold air intake. So it will hinder a cammed car even more.
You have a cam that will run up past 7000 and headers that crap out at a much lower rpms.

If you changed the gearing and or wheel or tire size(different weight). It will change the dyno numbers.
We've seen as much as 20rwhp if you play with the air pressure in the tires and diff oil temperature.Sometimes 2-3 dyno pulls needs to be done to stabilize the numbers, before doing changes.

With the CNC'd heads, did they touch the chambers, mill the surface or anything different with the valves, springs, etc? What about the head gasket, stock? The afr, timing, plugs?

I dynod my gpi head/ss3 cam car when I finished the build and got 451/415. 2 years later I dynod the car again for fun but I had a 3.91 gears and a different shops dyno and the numbers were 475/464. Gears definitely skewed the dyno results for me even tho it was a different dyno (both dyno jets, just different shops).

Dang, I'd say. That first number seemed awfully low, even for an auto H/C car. That difference in TQ though, wow.

Same tire height? Those 3.91 gears will change your numbers with different tire setups. I agree with everyone above about the header restrictions.
