I ordered an extra set of the rear ZL1 Gaurds to see if they can also be used in the front fender rear well. Might look clean. We'll see, if it doesn't seem like it will work, I'll pass them on to a C5er for a good price.

Thanks for posting the pic.

Will do, I'm getting the car back late next week and will see if it seems at all possible, I'm thinking not, Ofer (2SSRS) would have figured it out already. We will see though, you've got dibs.

Anyone know if the rear wheels have to be taken off before the rear shields are installed? TIA

No. But I will admit, having a flexible head screw driver makes the job a lot easier. If you don't have that you can take the Torx bit and put it into a set of vice clamps. I use this method when I work on my dads harley

Has anyone thought of taking the front ZL1 "mud flaps" that are designed to fit forward of the wheel and putting them on behind the wheel? Looks like it might just be exactly right for people with really wide rims up front.

If anyone has actually installed the fronts the way they were designed to go, could you comment on whether you think this is possible?

I've thought the same thing, but think the rear ones actually are the closest bet, since it's close to the same curvature and placement being the rear part of the fender well. I purchased and extra set of the rear and once my car is back (hopefully next week) I'm going to see if I can make it work.

Instead of wasting more time trying to mod the RPI's to fit better on the rear, I'm going to order ZL1 rear splash guards.
