Hard Start Issues

I am having hot warm and cold starting issues with my ZL1. I use 93 octane premium from top tier stations only. No codes set. My mechanic thinks I need to run a tank of gas through it with injection cleaner and then use 100% gasoline, which in my area only 90 octane available. Any thoughts on my particular issue? My mechanic won't look at the car until I do this, primarily because no codes set. I am the original owner of this car, 15k miles.

In all fairness to the shop, they are currently slammed and are shut down next week for vacation. The owner didn't want to let my car sit in their lot for a week, as he knows how particular I am about this car.

How would I go about finding a good shop? Seems to be hard to find here in SW Ohio.

Take it to your dealer. Many things can cause what your experiencing without setting a code or being fuel related. If the condition is duplicatable, then the cause can be found.

Yep, good advice. Seems as though I could have gotten a few more miles out of this unmodified car before trouble struck!

Age is just as bad as mileage or worse in some cases.

Ok, so my car has finally been admitted to my usual garage that I take my cars to. We shall see what the issue is, hopefully I will get a call tomorrow with good news (hopefully a no parts required fix)!

Well I just got my car back from the shop. They say that my hard start issues are due to a bad battery. They say that it tests out at 395 cca, when hooked up to my car. However it tests close to 800 cca when it is unhooked from the car. Seems strange to me. If I do replace this battery, what are other people running? This is an Everstart. I have been buying these for 33 years and this is the first bad one I have gotten (just installed it in May 2022). Please note that this is an H7 battery, 1000 CA 800 CCA.

If you purchased the battery in May and it is bad now it should be covered and replaced for free

Sorry man, but I can't read any of your posts due to the picture of your ride being so distracting...

Watching for your next update since I'm kinda shaky on it being the battery.
Lots of threads on C5 for hard start issues with the V8s.

I couldn't find any threads on ZL1 hard start issues. What were the primary causes?
