Most people will never get the opportunity, but I have looked over the side of the Sears Tower from the roof. People looked like ants.
I ran out of fingers counting the seconds before my spit hit the ground.

They still come with key flip fobs.
The problem was retained power for the air bags if you hit the key. My daughter has a '14 Malibu but it has the stop start function & retains power for the air bags if shut off.

Thats what i did, i hit my knee on their "solution" more than i did the way it was meant to be. The only thing hanging from my key was the FOB, now that its back to pre-recall i don't hit anything. (I bought my car and it was done already :( )

How did you do that? Is there a video on how to do it?

I just broke to key blade out of the recall key, and got a roll pin from the hardware store. Easy as pie.

I pulled the key out of the plastic head it was in by warming it with a torch. I put some loctite in the slot on the fob and stick the key in the slot. I then used a wire spring from a wooden clothes pin to insert into the roll pin hole. I broke the spring off by wiggleing it back and forth a little. It works great.

I'm still not going to have it done. They can mail, e-mail, and call me all they want. My answer is still...NO!

Funny thing is, the local dealers around me still sell the "recall" keys. So they went through all the trouble to recall them. then, kept the recall keys for sale. Crazy.

You can see in the video exactly what I am talking about. I bought the car used so it came with the recall fixed one. I wanted a spare and went to my local dealers. They had the "recall" version for sale. You can see in the video as I program the "recall" key I got new from said dealer.
