Proper bearing install??
So what picture is correct for main and rod bearings?
I've seen it both ways. What picture is correct top or bottom?

I've never seen it done the bottom way and never had. This is the way I was taught and it's work 100% of the time every time.

Direct from GM's Service Information for a 2014 6.2L
"Install new upper connecting rod bearings into position. Roll the connecting rod bearings into position so that the lock tang engages the alignment slot. The connecting rod bearings must fit flush in the connecting rod . " So I would say the first picture is the correct way. |

The bearings should sit flush as in the first photo, chances are the bearing moved during disassembly.

All rod bearings was like the bottom picture. The mains where flat across.

From the factory? That would be a first for me, I've taken down a few LS engines to replace pistons and rings under warranty, never saw a bearing installed that way.
