Issues with Roto-Fab CAI - 2018 ZL1 A10

Just installed RotoFab Cold Air Intake with dry Filter, the installation was easy with no problems, However there is a high pitch sound when I am driving, its overpowering the Blower whine, its hard to explain, when the car is in park and I Rev it I don't hear it. Any help is appreciated.

Is it constant? I have same. Rotofab on '18 Z.
The pitch on mine changes with throttle blade position. When cracks open, it's high pitch for an instant then goes to a "woosh" of the rushing air through the system. I have put other CAI's on my other vehicles (trucks, cars) and have experienced a similar experience. Some guys call it an exhaust for your intake. The K/N on my Tundra is loud as hell. Some guys don't mind it, some do.

I will say after i went to a Tony M TB and headers, can't hear it as much anymore...

There is the whine that comes from the blower and then there is the whistle that you'll hear as air gets sucked thru the air filter. And additionally you might be able to hear the sudden whoosh from air being sucked in super fast thru the TB when you go WOT. These are all normal. You have an open element setup and they are known to give that whistle even on NA cars. Mustang guys love it because they can pretend their car has forced induction as their IATs soar up to 145 degrees on a 65 degree evening.

If that constant high pitched noise you are referring to, mine does not do that.

I didn't know mine did until i saw this video. Can't really hear it from inside the car. Just hear the blower whine. I've watched Z06s go around the track that sounded the same way.

Interesting, it's possible mine does the same thing. If other cars are doing it as well I guess nothing to be worried about. I love mine.

Thanks guys for all the responses, I had 2017 2ss with Rotofab and it didn’t make any of those noises, I guess the ZL1 is different, it just bothered me because it’s kind of louder than the blower whine. At least it’s normal so I have to get used to it.

Some changes were made between 2017 and 2018 versions of the Roto-fab CAI. Some reported that putting the older style 2017 intake on had a whistling noise. Changing out for a 2018 seems to fix the issue. Mine makes a bit of a whine noise on throttle open but then it's all blower. To be driving around with a constant noise that's louder than blower whine doesn't sound normal to me. Call Roto-fab and they may be able to send you the updated surround that seals better.
