Are the blue lights on the dash gauges part of the ambient lighting (2LT/2SS) or is that just on the doors? I searched for awhile and couldn't find out if those blue dash lights come in the 1LT or not.

Well, I don't know if you consider them part of the ambient lighting. The gauges do have blue lights on/around them, but it's so you can see them in the dark.

There is no other ambient lighting at this time other than on the door panels.

I've been lurking around the forums for some time but now decided to register as well.
I would also be interested to know whether the ambient lighting comes on the 1LT as well. Or is it with the RS package?

There are blue rings around the guages. But not sure if it's part of abl. I have only been in 2lt cars but when you turn the key to the first click the abl and those rings are on

2LT and 2SS only, the RS package has nothing to do with ABL

The blue rings are orange rings if you get the Inferno Orange interior (well, at least MOST are orange LOL )

Yes, all gauges have the blue circles around them (unless you get the IOM interior trim pkg).

Correct. The 2Lt and 2SS would have the blue "rings" around the door panel... aka Ambient lights.

I have the SS Model, it as the lights around the door panels, I have only driven it couple times in the nighttime since I owned it a year ago.
I was sure the part of the dash above the glove box illuminated as will as the door panels on the SS was I seeing things or does this panel not illuminate.
If it is suppose to be lit, how do you check for lose connections or problems with this system eg, removing the panel etc.It's under warranty but I have a lousy Dealer who would would say it is normal like GM says about the popping in the front end.Note: when I dim the instrument both door panels and the cluster lights dim ,but the light above the dash, which I thought was part of the cluster system don't light.

Any help is appreciated.

Only the door panel sections illuminate, not the strip on the dash.

i got a 1LT and i got the blue around my gages

now if you get the RS package your foglights become DRL BUT if you just turn your parking lights on you can have just the halos on the front on

also if you get the 1LT you got cloath on the trim no lights

2LT i believe has plastic and the lights but ALL camaros have them blue lights around the gages unless stated you have the infernal orgain (crapy spelling) package then its that color i love them blue lights

cause at night after you turn off your car they stay on along with the inter light looks awsome

*edit* also to note they are always on at night but in the day time the gages are always on just real dim at night when the auto lights kick on then the blue rings come on it looks cool i also love how the lights automaticly come on at night lol im lazy i know lol

OK, now I am confused...

I have a 2010 SS. From what I was told by carmax it's a 1ss.

The car has leather, heated seats, Fog Light DRL, Halo head lights, ambient door panel accent lighting, the 4 cluster gauge package, spoiler, and red camaro side badges and rear bowtie.

What kind of car is this then??!??!? Judging from what's being said mine is actually a 2ss lol
