New headers & a new system from ARH for Ruby
Well the deal is made. Ruby will be sporting the first of a new set-up of headers with high-flow cats & h-pipe from American Racing headers for the LLT. Nick Filippides & I have been talking about this off & on since C5 Fest. Not sure how soon I will have it or when I'll get it installed, but it is ordered. I still have to make a final decision on which tune to go with but am leaning toward Trifecta. I want to also get my front sway bars so I can get them installed at the same time. Then I will be pretty much done with performance stuff. The rest is way over my pay grade. This new set-up is supposed to sound much better with only sacrificing 1-2 HP over the X-pipe.
So what say you guys? What do you think about the tune?

That's on your SS, correct?
I'm thinking LTs, high flow and a H-pipe on a V6 is not going to be the most flattering sound.... H-pipes have been tried on the V6 and IIRC most people here did not like it.... Also think a lot of the LT folks have gone with an resonated X-pipe to try and control some of the rasp...

No on my LLT. Nick feels confident in what he is fabricating. I asked him about resinators & he did not think I needed them. If need be I can always add them later. He thinks the LLT with his x-pipe setup does not sound good. ??????????????
And I hope I will get some better times on the drag strip! Does anyone know of someone specific who had ARH long tubes & h-pipe & switched to resinated X-pipe?

Nice! We just installed a set of ARH headers with HFC's on a local V6. They were very nice headers. I'm not too sure about going with an H over the resonated X though. Once you add headers to a V6, you will introduce a lot of rasp and resonated X pipe is usually the best way to eliminate it.
I'd be interested to hear a sound clip when it's complete though! Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |

I just talked to Nick again & he said "Trust the guy who builds the systems". He said he has put long tubes with his x-pipe syetem on LLT's & they sound bad but is confident I will like this new one. He said if I don't he will send me a new system & do what he needs to to make me happy. I'm going to trust him.
