I took it to the dealership I bought it from and they did my oil change and told me to drive it for 1k miles so we can run the oil consumption test.

I doubt it, but maybe some who would know, can chime in on that. If for some reason, using the oil pressure sensor location causes issues, You may be able to find adapters to put the gauge inline and still have a sensor attached. Or you could use the plug on the side of the block, lower left, but its a large plug. i dont remember what size it is. I know its there because I've used to to prime the engine on ones I've worked on. You could use that spot, if you can access it and have the right fittings to attach your gauge.

I remember the engine in my Camaro 78.
The technology plugs on the engine block at the timing chain have loosened and the oil pressure has dropped to zero.
Oil pressure none, but the sensor that is right above the pump reported everything okay.

That's why I made a check hole for oil pressure at the furthest point from the oil pump - above the water pump.

I removed the broken clock and replaced it with an oil pressure gauge.

This way I have 2x guarded engine from 2 places and the oil pressure still under control.

So after the problems of LS3 pumps, I would like to ensure everything at the highest level.

MY response would be to change the oil pressure sending unit in the back of the intake manifold, monitor usage of oil and use a catch can and do a engine cleaning with some seafoam ...etc in the tank and through the intake... and go from there, your car sounds like the oil pump is going to fail but also your high on the oil consumption where it would be more like 1 qt for 6k being the more norm though even high for a stock engine.... You do not state what oil your using and even with a full synthetic made for modified engines I do not go over 5k between changes ever...… And at 11$ a quart I pay attention, as others said you could have a clogged screen on the oil pressure sending unit, but its not unknown to fail......the oil pump and you should have done a Blackstone report on the oils condition for metallic substances in it showing if the engine is trash.... Good Luck.
