If it wasn't going to be a DD I would leave it with no interior at all.

Got the floor pans tacked in place, next I will move forward to the next stiffener which is also the mid body mounts. I will do them the same way as the rear two. Before I cut out any more I decided, rather than weld in bracing, I will use the existing holes for the door hinges and bolt them in. Typically you would weld bracing to ensure it doesn't move but I want to leave as much original metal untouched as I can. I wouldn't bother at all except the firewall isn't welded in, I'm leaving it removeable to make fabricating the toe boards easier, and I will need to remove the front two body mount bolts to separate all the layers of metal before fabricating new parts.

Got the bracing in place and started cutting out the first section, tomorrow I will get under it and split the seem so I can remove the sill. It's the same as the rear section, one side is tacked, the other welded solid, this won't be fun. lol

As I've said before lots and lots of practice. lol

Got all the remaining floor pieces cut out down to the first layer, tomorrow I will cut out the rest and start fabricating the body mount and sill tying it in to the firewall. Then on to the floor pans.

Got the rest of the crap cut out. It was quite a bit of work separating all the layers of metal from the front body mounts and remaining firewall section. Started cleaning it up a little. Tomorrow I will clean up the rest and start fabricating the new panels.

Wow not so pretty up front, can see you have your work cut out for you here too.All those previous photos of the rear were looking so nice I was thinking you were almost done.It looks like someone has made previous attempts at repairs but just welded new over old. Well at least you will have the satisfaction of knowing it was done right this time.

Oh yeah I forgot I was gonna ask you what you were going to use to seal the undercarriage and frame with when you are finished since you are going to use this as your daily driver?

These kinds of repairs are typical on older cars, especially since the invention of body fillers. Lol.

I will most likely use an epoxy primer/sealer then undercoating , chassis black on the frame.

Spent a little time thinking about the order of assembly and then started fabricating a couple of the front support pieces. Had to leave early to pick up more sheet metal. lol. Tomorrow I will deal with the remaining rust on the front pieces, the sides I'm not concerned with as they will be cut out and replaced soon. I'm hoping to have the sill and the two body mounts in place by tomorrow.

Got the next section of the sill in place as well as the next set of stiffeners and body mounts tacked in. Spent some time prepping the rusted area for welding, tomorrow I will finish cleaning it up so I can weld in the next piece which ties the sill to the firewall. I will need to weld it first so I may weld the firewall while I'm at it because at this time it needs to get tacked in as well.

Moving right along. Got the front two pieces welded up and installed, also got the firewall welded and tacked in place. Tomorrow I will box the front pieces and then work on the kick plates. From there I will take off the bracing and start on the front floor sections and transmission tunnel.

I'm digging all of the bead roller work on the sheet metal panels in this project. Nothing elaborate or intricate, but it just looks right. Thanks for sharing, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I try to keep things simple and functional.

Got a couple more pieces made to tie the firewall and sill together and tacked them in place. Tomorrow I will make the kick panels and get them in place. I can then take off the bracing so I can get under the dash and weld between the two pieces before they get closed in with the toe boards.
