Understanding the SCT gauges

When looking at the SCT gauges, how do I know what is considered good or not? I have tried looking some of the things up and cant find answers. For instance:

ABS Throttle% 16.86
Rel Throttle% 50.19
Spark Adv 13.5 This one jumped around from 8 to 15 though.
STFT B1 1.05
STFT B2 .95
LTFT B1 1.05
LTFT B2 1.02

From reading, I understand the LTFT ideally would be at 1 but even they moved slightly. All this was sitting at idle.

Are you tuned and can you adjust what channels you are monitoring?

I would say monitor Knock retard if you can instead of timing.

Also here is a link to a video that will better explain how LTFTs and STFTs than I can here.

So if I understand that video, my car is running about 5% too lean? I supposed that is not a good thing? Also, the KR was at 0.

No the LTFTs bring it back in line where it should be and a LTFT between 1 and -1 is fine. And you want to moniter KR when you are doing WOT pulls. So you can make sure you arent running to much timing.

I thought on the SCT tuner it stayed at 1 and went below and above and every tenth was a %? If it was at -1 that would be 100% rich

My bad i have been tuning with hptuners alot lately. With SCT a 1 is perfect 1.05 is 5% lean a .95 is 5% rich. Have you done any logs with the car? It would be easier to explain looking at a log. Im trying to find a good video for a GM car with SCT but having no luck at the moment. At idle i wouldnt worry about it to much. What you want to be concerned about is under heavy loads like WOT. The best way to see that is with a wideband. If you are seeing your LTFTs adjusting over 5% while cruising around it just means that your tune could be fine tuned a little more. Your not actually running lean you are still stoich your just seeing what the computer is reading and adjusting for through your narrow band 02 sensors. The biggest concerns if your just monitoring is KR.

I do not have a laptop to record a log. I can hook that in and drive around to see what it says etc but that's about it. I may try to hook it up on my drive into work tomorrow just to see what it says.

That would honestly make it much easier for you to see what everything is doing. There are many good videos on reading SCT logs. That channel that made the video i posted has a lot of good info to help understand what the car is doing when and why, but he is using hptuner so the way the info is displayed will be different but what the car is doing is the same. Also goat rope garage has some great videos as well if you havent watched his stuff but again he is using hptuners mainly.

I ran the SCT on the way in to work this morning. the STFT would go a bit above and below 1 as it ran. For my understanding that is normal because its adding and subtracting fuel as it should to try and be at 1. The LTFT however stayed between 1.05 and 1.08 when cruising. The only time it hit 1 or 1.01 was when stopped at a light. Would that be normal or does that mean the car runs a bit lean? I had 0 KR when I would glance down at it to include while I was doing 75 down the interstate or at any take off.

Exactly, the car is averaging a little lean on that bank and the LTFTs are bringing it back to stoich. So you could clean you VE or Closed loop tune up a little. For knock thats perfect that's what you want to see.

So, for both banks I should talk to my tuner since the LTFTs are both reading 1.05-1.08? I thought the STFTs were doing what they were supposed to bouncing up and down beyond 1.0

Its small fine tuning that you wont really notice. Probably not worth paying to have it more finely tuned. YES IT IS FINE.
