General Camaro Questions - wheel size / Release Date

Hey everyone who knows if the Camaro is keeping the 22 inch rear and 21 inch from tires. Is this confirmed because if it is im happy those tires make that car look amazing. People complain about the tires I like them. Also When is the Camaro gonna be available why are people saying summer.?

Wheel sizes aren't confirmed but its likely we'll see 20 at most, matching all around. Usually lower cost cars (like the Camaro) keep wheel/tire sizes uniform at all corners so the tires can be rotated and such.

We don't have a firm release date for the Camaro. We just know first quarter of 2009, so likely sometime around March.

We should get solid info on what the Camaro will have in September, it will be unvailed at the Camaro Indy Bash, or whatever its called. It will be on sale 1st quarter 2009, so march at the latest. Possibly in feb. Either way, less than a year from now. But not this summer.

The new Camaro will feature lightweight 21-inch front, and 22-inch rear aluminum wheels. This information and more details are available at http://www.chevrolet.com/performance. Unfortunately, we do not yet have pricing information. The Camaro is scheduled to be available for sale in early 2009, as a 2010 model; pricing information will be available closer to production. ^Everything put out thus far has been for the concept only. If you read or check up anything on it, it'll always say, "The Camaro concept features..." etc.

Anytime you hear the same old message about the concept, it still talks about the concept having the LS2 (among other things, but this works perfectly for my example). However, we've been told repeatedly by Scott, camero, and 3whiterag that the LS2 is out the door, old news, history, yadda, yadda.

Just because you hear the concept has 21's and 22's doesn't mean that the production version will have it. As Scott had previously said, those rims cost an arm and a leg....which is why one of the BB's never got them and got fake rims in place...

It would be very expensive to produce all the production cars w/ those wheels. But, I pretty much guarantee that GM will offer the wheels for purchase as an option at a pretty high price.

21" and 22 " would make it very hard to get good winter tires in that size and also mega expensive

The answer is no. There is no evidence that they will be standard. All evidence points to something between 18 and 20 inches. See spy pics.

Well the prototype Camaros are riding around with 245s on the front and 275s on the rear. I sure hope they don't do that for the production V8 car. Mighty expensive to replace tires if that's the case.

I'm sure the big wheels and tires, whatever size they are, will be options.

If you guys remember the SSR, that came with 2 different size wheels, 19" fronts and 20" rears...

Would be nice to have options for them, with a price cost ofc, and the big 21"/22" to also be included as posibilities.

18" at the most for me on the street, _maybe_ 19"'s. 17" or smaller for AutoX.
