Had the master cylinder resevior replaced today, time will tell and I'll
let you guys know the outcome.

Also, there is a sound dampener just in front of the doors. The one on the
passenger side fell out, it was hanging out between the door and fender.
Had this replaced today also. You have to remove the front inner
fender well to get to it. Turns out the boys in Oshwa never put it on the
retaining clip, checked the drivers side and it was clipped but in the wrong position.

Not a big deal but should be right for what we pay for this car.
What's with those crazy Canuucks? The Canadian plant is starting to sound like the plant in Ohio where they build the Cobalt, alotta crap coming out of there!

Everything is dry and clean as can be under mine...Sure hope that faint smell isnt the car burning it because of the lifter issue. Checked oil...its right on the full mark and smells of gas a little..

They really slammed it. The Miata ranked better. WTF.
Maybe too soon to buy. They say the first year is the worst.
H.

OK...calm down. MOST of us do NOT have a problem. And by the way the C&D list you are referring to was the TOP 10 best "drivers cars"...so the fact that it came in 10th ISN'T a bad thing...better than being left off the list...and besides the Miata, did you happen to see the other cars on the list or are you too busy waiting for the sky to fall on your head?

Forgot to mantion this!

As I was getting the resevior replaced I noticed that the air conditioner
pump belt was frayed.
Turns out it was split almost all the way around, to the point where I now have 2 belts where there should be 1. This is a stretch on belt, meaning that
there is no tensioner involved. Looks like the boys at Oshwa screwed this up too, most likely split during install. It may have only been slightly damaged at first but now has split in two.
Have a new one on order.

I just turned 3600 miles, VIN 857.

I suggest all take a close look at and around your car, you may be surprised
what you find.

And yes, I love this thing, it is a pure joy to drive

I had the same location leak as EVS had at 500 mi, beside just behind the oil pan. Dealer tightened the bolts on the oil pan. No more leak.

I agree, calm down! It can be handled very easliy by the dealer - with some inconvience I admit. No smells, or leaks from mine. She is 1 month old (to me) today - about 1450 miles on her. Already did an oil change around 1200. Besides lots of metal shavings, no leaks.

leaking

Discovered a leak in the passenger front strut and leak in rear gear box. Seal on rear gear box had to be replaced and the front strut had to be replaced too.

oil leak

The wife pulled out her 2LT of the garage this morning and noticed an oil drop on the garage floor. 1700 miles, what a joke. Already having to take it back to the dealer. I havent looked yet to figure out where its coming from. I dont think we should be having these issues with a brand new car. It always seems that GM products like to leak a little oil. My Yukon XL did, my Tahoe did, my Envoy XL did. Its funny that my F-250 diesel with 130,000 miles on it doesnt leak any fluids.

Just wanted to post up and let yall know that there is another one with a leak. We still love the car, but hope there are no more issues. I hate taking my cars anywhere to be worked on because something else always gets screwed up. A scratch here or ding there you know what I mean. Thanks for reading my rant. Keith

The bolt on my Camaro was loose just before the first oil change. Not surprising considering my rear spoiler was falling off as well. They did over tighten the from bumper so paint is coming off in between them.. :( I will be taking my car to the Tampa dealer I picked it up in to see what they can do for the paint.
