Oil temperature LFX

Just to check. What`s oil temperature should be in case of calm driving?
It seems it`s bit lower then should be. Mostly it shows between 86-88 deg C. or just forget?

I don't know what "C" is, cuz 'Murica.

88 sounds reasonable. I think mine runs about that temperature too.

Is this display specific to a model or model year? I don't think my LS has that, does it?

That temperature is fine, the oil needs to get hot enough to get rid of water that can condensate into it if I remember right. Doing a nice hard run to get it to 100 Celsius will really work. But I think that is just a calculated temp, not a true temp.

thanks. your idea regarding calculated temp is interesting.

For example: I just found out that car shows 3 different values of coolant temperature. 2 on dashboard and 1 on additional indicator near gear shift. So can anyone explain where are sensors responsible for these indicators located?
Our official distributor of camaro knows nothing about it. just checked today.

They can, just throw in the 4-pack gauges: http://www.gen5diy.com/2013-camaro-4-pack-gauges/

IMHO this pack is useless because it shows "weather on Mars". Bat it looks cool. Girls like it
Indicator on dashboard gives much more information. The only thing it is not quite clear how the system works
