You might actually succeed. Plenty of rich fools out there. The Eiffel Tower was sold once....actually, twice.

You know, at first glance that vehicle looks like a riced out F-body Mustang 5.0. Cars like that give a new meaning to the words "ugly" and "inappropriate".

We were discussing that for a while. We somewhat believe he could have been conned into paying that much. Maybe with fake bidder going against him to raise the bid?

We also thought that he was trying to increase the value in his vehicle by saying he paid more for it than he actually did.

Didn't TV shows used to cut Corvettes to make them look like Ferrari's back in the 80s?

There was a place in Los Angeles, a guy use to take C3 Corvette's and put Daytona bodies on them . Actually used real Ferrari parts i think. They used one in the first two seasons of Miami Vice. After that Ferrari apparently was upset about the car getting attention, and not being real. So they gave the production two new Black Testarossa's , which were then painted white ,because they photographed better at night.
On a side note Don Johnson was given a silver Testarossa by Ferrari in 1989, and he auctioned it at barrett jackson a couple years ago and got around 60-70K

Those Corvette based Ferrari Daytona knock off's were pretty superbly done. Few kits have ever come together as well, IMO.

Still, I don't think I would ever be inclined to buy a kit or replica car of any sort. I just wouldn't feel like it would be a very solid investment if I ever wanted to get rid of it.

It was a guy named McBurney that built the Ferrari Daytona Spyder /Corvette conversions. Sharp looking cars but it would allways be a copy. Ferrari shut him down.

Google "McBurney Ferrari"

-Mark.
