I would be very happy also if I was upgraded at no expense to me ... I'll keep my fingers crossed but not hold my breath.

FBOD/Camaro 5:
My car is stuck at 2050. My dealer was allocated 2 but only has 1 on the way. Is it likely that I will get the 2012? My dealer has not heard from GM if they will give him both allocations with the delay. What are your thoughts. Best regards. Order Number: QBVGJ5 Status 01/24/2012 - (2050) Order changed or modified. Checked on 04/01/2012 08:12:38 12/21/2011 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order. 12/21/2011 (1102) Order entered via web. 01/13/2012 (2030) Order edited or modified. 01/24/2012 (2050) Order changed or modified. |

All that fbodfather said, sounded good and pretty and it could be the real reason for the halted production. But in my opinion, it was little more complicated than just a cosmetic fix.
I mean, if it was just a cosmetic thing, Im sure GM would have said that a long time ago. Just my opinion. |

No, if the QC hold were due to "just a cosmetic thing," the reason for the hold would not have been announced by GM either now or a long time ago.

I spoke to my dealer twice today since the "2 weeks" was up and I trusted that we would finally know what was going on. I'm not impressed and on the verge of cancelling both cars (only one is a ZL1) that I have on order. I'm going to sleep on it and decide in the morning. I think this is terrible customer service.

So how has customer service been with those 40 Camaro's? Well let me re-state that, how has customer service been with your other NEW Camaros? I'm just surprised that you are thinking of cancelling your orders after dealing with so many GM cars...I'm sure you must have had other issues as well, but stayed with them. I guess while you're sleeping on it you might want to ask yourself if this issue is REALLY that bad? Or has your emotions taken over after seeing all the others with their ZL1 being delivered? I don't mean to be offensive in anyway, it's just that after owning that many Camaros it would be a shame to cancel now when you have on order one of the BEST Camaros ever made. Of course I can understand your frustration...I can't even get one order...my dealer doesn't even know if they have an allotment yet! However, I've only owned 1 Camaro and I really didn't care for it, but I would like to own a ZL1. Yet, if I can't get an answer by June, I'll be purchasing a different vehicle...or I may just keep what I have (Lexus isF) since it's not really that bad. Seems like a lot of people really wanted this ZL1 and now when it's close (even if no replies are being given for the hold up) people's frustration and emotions are starting to drive them away from what they really wanted...they're losing sight of their goal and seeing emotional red. I would say if you can hold off and wait you may be glad you did, or not depending on your situation of course. Prior to finding this Camaro5 forums, I never knew there were so many loyal Camaro owners out there...this is a great community with a lot of information/knowledge of the car...a lot of wise guys too, but that's what makes it a great place as well. Zedder - I hope you get whatever vehicle you Truly want...and try not to sweat the small stuff...if you watch the news you'll see there are much worse things happening around us then a car manufacturer not keeping us updated with stats of a cherished vehicle...just saying. |
