Cruise to Waterton National Park

While on the BC / Alberta Meet n Greet, Jordan came to me and said he is moving to Calgary and wondered about a cruise in September for him to get to know the Ladies and Gentlemen down here. I thought that was a great idea and talking to a few people, came across quite a few who had never been to Waterton.

This is a 3 hour drive from Calgary on some great roads and is a 3 hour drive. Some of us did it when it was on the cool side and didn't get to see much, but Robd and Smarbrit can attest to the drive.

I am thinking September 14, 2013. It will give Jordan a chance to get settled, break up September and still give us nice enough weather to be out and about.

There are options down there for eating and I could talk to the Restaurant we ate in if I can remember the name of it. Might have to drive down on my own and talk to them in person. (Like that would hurt)

So this is in the beginning stages. I am thinking we should invite all muscle cars on this cruise to really get Jordan up on things. We had one of these in March and had a pretty good turnout. What does everyone think? I'm sure there are a lot of us who would like to get another cruise in before we have to bed them down.

Feedback is wanted...and needed! So give us your input and we'll get it together!

MEETING PLACE

Empire Theater parking lot @ 16061 Macleod Trail SE (This is across the parking lot from the Superstore in Shawnessy) Any questions, feel free to ask.
Time...8:00am
Rollout by 8:30am
Calgary to Nanton, over to Chain Lakes Provincial Park, South on Highway 22 to Highway 3 east to Pincher Creek and south to Waterton.

This route is only about 10 minutes difference in driving time and more scenic. We can come back through Brocket to shave 10 minutes off our time. LOL

Lunch to be discussed. The Twin Butte General Store is closed for the weekend. They are having their annual cancer fundraiser this weekend and will be closed both Saturday and Sunday.

Alright...I have sent out messages to a ton of people before going to bed. I hope I did it right. Anyone who is too far away, I'm sorry if you can't make it, but if you can, it would be awesome!

Anyone I haven't messaged, don't feel left out. You're ALL welcome to come. Remember, I'm an old man with a small brain and I can't remember everyone.

Even if you didn't get a "special" invite, feel free to come along and and join in! The more the merrier. And as I said, if you know someone with a muscle car...tell them about this and we'll include them in the cruise as well.

Please be advised, you will need to pay at the gates in Waterton as it is a National Park, or you will need a park pass. No way around this.

Now...let's get this planned! Look forward to all and any input.

I should be good to go! Jason may not be able to make it due to football, games are always on saturdays! With the way the leaves are changing already, should be a pretty drive!

I've got an early morning commitment that day, so depending on when you guys are leaving, I may not be able to cruise down with you. I'd still like to go though and would be willing to drive down on my own if I can meet up with you guys there, and then all cruise back together.

If you were to go would you just drive your truck or tow your trailer too?

You should try to catch the radium show Saturday sept 21 and then to Waterton
Park the next day. Then north home.

You so funny, Mr."I want a trailer now too". lol

I'd drive the slobra, without a support vehicle for this cruise.
