Even at the high 50 price range I think sales will be very brisk.

Yea if i was to buy it i would be selling my car i have now wich is payed off then saving up about another 10gs and throwing about 30g for the down payment. so that puts it right at the same payment price that i would be at if i put 20 down on the 11 ss2/rs |

how do they have a price on a car that doesn't exist yet? officially. . . they have a well educated guess of GT500 ballpark price. since that's the car they are aiming for. now 55k plus - I've heard that to. also heard 45+, 60+, etc etc etc. but until it's official you can hear a lot of things. doesn't make it right. an educated guess is in line with that gt500 price. maybe a slight premium over it like the SS is over the GT. but we will see as this car isn't official, YET. |

I was in Arkansas picking up a used 2010 GT500 and I was perusing the dealer showroom while I was waiting for the sales guy to come down (internet sales manager). I saw an '11 GT500 w/ SVT PP/Nav for $61. On the sticker there was a blatant $5k "Market Adjustment". Now, here is the kicker. The previous DAY I was at a Ford dealer here in Houston and I was offered a '11 GT500 w/ SVT PP/Nav for $52k, $3k UNDER MSRP. Absolutely hilarious. I would NEVER pay a mark up on a car. MSRP is the absolute most I would pay and I don't like paying that. Anyways, the Z should be sweet. I hope they get it buttoned down tight and it meets the GT500 on the track. If it comes in short it better be cheaper. I want to see a Z that pushes Ford. Ford is really putting the pedal to the metal on the Mustang but if GM doesn't answer I fear they will rest on their laurels and not push the envelope as much. New Challenger is making noise... will be nice to see how that one plays out too. To each their own but we need them all because we need competition.

Don't forget about the gas guzzler tax on top the selling price.
Here are the rates. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f6197.pdf The tax will probably be close to the STS at 19.6 CMPG, or the Corvette at 20.4 CMPG For both the tax is $ 1,700. Got to keep the gov't in business somehow. |
