I think automatics are annoying (unless in a traffic jam).

Annoying? All I can say is this -- if you get a stick, there will be times you'd wish for an automatic, but the fun and sense of involvement you have with the car makes a manual my choice. That said, if I had to use a car for a daily driver, I'd choose an automatic. How's that for a concise answer!

Sticks are a lot of fun and that out weighs the inconvienece of an auto. It's a lot easier to drive a stick with some power unlike a stick cobalt or civic.

How does an automatic transmission inconvenience you?

I only wish I could answer your question. This will be the first car with a manual that I will ever own. On the flip side my best friend drives a chevy silverado with a 5-speed manual in it. He has been driving it since the day I have known him. He doesn't get annoyed at all. He barely even notices it as different. After you get used to it, you shouldn't be fine.

I think everyone should learn on a stick. But not necessarily mated to a 426 horsepower engine.

I love stick I have been driving it since my first car 17 years ago. The only time it suck is when your in bumper to bumper traffic for a long time , and or city traffic and your using your cell phone without a head set. I highly discourage that practice.

BTW please tell me your going to start with the V6 ,for someone 16 y/o to learn and or drive a car with 426hp is almost suicide. Around that age to about 25 everyone thinks their invinsible and nothing can go wrong or happen to you or other people on the road. 305hp is nothing to laugh at so keep it safe. I've pulled, cut out, enough dead kids out of cars.

They get annoying in traffic jams and city driving. I don't know personally, just listening to my dad complain.

And please tell us you're starting off with the V6.

He might be talking about the "slushbox" factor.Or when on the highway when you need to pass someone quickly it has to kick down instead of just rolling into the "go" pedal .
