Does an alarm system come with a 2SS?

Just ordered a 2SS but it still is not clear whether the car comes with an actual audible alarm siren that goes off if someone breaks into the car. I realize the car has OnStar and some form of anti-theft or theft deterrent system, but is there actually an alarm on the car that goes off? I can't imagine that a car of this caliber would just stay slient while someone breaks the glass and helps themselves to all the goodies inside... Any insight on this would be much appreciated. Thanks...

Ah...always so nice to see a lame smartass on the board ala Ms. Jumper. Any helpful info on the alarm siren issue would be much appreciated from anyone who has already received their 2SS - thanks again...

no, no audible alarm. But this car will already be hard enough to steal.

Milk - Thanks very much for your reply. Appreciated. Surprising no audible on this one - no biggie though and certainly wouldn't have affected my order given available aftermarket alarm options.

Milk, my 2SS has an alarm in it. If you lock it, then go and reach in to open the door the alarm will sound. It does not sound if someone is shaking the car, but if the doors are opened while locked it will sound off. Starts chirping, then the siren goes off.

Yes, there is an alarm on the 2SS/RS.

this car will be hard to steal with onstar in it and the anti theft stuff. I mean alarms these days are overated, people dont pay attention to them anymore. truth of the matter is if somebody wants it they will get it dont matter what. Best thing is to take the following steps.

1. Park in garage, if you dont have one park in a well light area and where the car is visible from your windows or other peoples. People wont steal stuff if they think people will see them.

2. As dumb as it sounds. LOCK your car and roll up windows.

3. Dont leave valueables in plain view

4. have insurance

Seriously with the questions people ask on here.

Does this Camaro come with a stereo? I can't imagine that a car of this caliber would just stay slient because there is no radio in the dash.

Thanks for yet another example.

Mine is in the garage. I guess I have not had that issue. I shook it and it stayed quiet.

Thanks for the helpful info edog - so the 2SS does in fact include an alarm siren. Cool.
