Beating a 2016 SS (LT1)
I’m curious about what mods would I need to have on my car to beat the 6th gen SS? I currently have a stock 2011 SS but next month I’ll be adding a CAI, LT headers, Tune, and 1LE exhaust.

It’s hard to say what will help you with all the different factors involved. From what I see you need at least 75 rwhp to overcome the power and 200+ weight advantage they have. On a conservative dyno stock 5th gen has about 365 whp. Using what dyno’s I have seen from JDP the 6th gen can be underrated and makes 410-420. Not sure if that is normal or just a good motor. I can’t address any trans/ rear gear or suspension advantage if there is any as I don’t know as far as acceleration is concerned.
The mods you are doing will get you about 60 whp. If I am right on the power difference you would need to do a cam. Then there is the driver factor |

I think it would also depend on the transmissions in the two cars.

Gear is huge for the 5th gen. If a manual a lighter clutch as well. You find one like the RPS twin carbon with aluminum flywheel it weighs 26 pounds thats 30 pounds off the crank and the acceleration between it and gear will out perform the majority of cars that stuffed a mcmuffin cam in with no supporting mods. Most 6 gens stock are running bottom 12s in a auto and mid 12s manual in decent air. 5th gen can squeak into the upper 12s manual and lower 13s auto on average. See how the rolls flipped between 5th and 6th gen. The new auto is a much better option. Plus the 6th gen has an even heavier clutch at like 62 pounds! That is mechanical torque management from GM lol
