Subframe bushing removal help.
Getting ready to pull the bushings haven't got to look at it in depth but the question I have is there an easy way to get the retainer plate off I'm tapping it with a hammer and large screwdriver only messing up the plate and it's not moving. Any advice would be appreciated.

they'll come out when you push the bushing out.
no need to go after them separately. you getting the bushings out using a jack on the subframe and a large socket between the bushing and frame? |

DO NOT take the bushing out with out removing the plates. Heat the plate up real hot and they will pop off. I had to cut the bushing apart to get the 1st one off after taking the bushing out 1st. it was almost impossible.

I already pulled the subframe to install my squash pump so I'm going to attempt the heat and hammer technique if that doesn't work I'll cut it. I'll attempt to heat the plate hope they fall out first.

Leave it on for removal by the torch method - reference the write ups on this. After removal flip it over and use a socket with an OD that just fits inside the steel bushing, or a punch, catch the lip of the plate and knock it off. it is press fitted into the bushing and does not pry off easily w/o damage.

torch...it will be your best friend! Overall, I think it took me about two hours to get all of the bushings out and the new ones in. I didn't mess with any cutting, prying or pressing. I went right to the torch.
